Vivian Pham, Kim Pham, and Felicity Castagna talk about the business of taking a book from the page to the stage and screen, sharing their experiences of adapting novels The Coconut Children and Girls in Boys' Cars, as well as the process of adapting the screenplay Bird Hands Beaver a Fishmint Bouquet into a novel.

2023 Bird Hands Beaver a Fishmint Bouquet screens at MOPOKE Short Film Festival

Kim was one of five filmmakers to have their films screened at Sydney's first 24hr outdoor cinema. MOPOKE'S program is carefully curated to include a diverse selection of arthouse films and short films, catering to the discerning movie lover. 

 

Screening at 6pm Saturday 4th of February on Macquarie Street which will be completely pedestrianized from Hyde Park Barracks to the State Library of NSW.

2022 Heyman Mentorship Award Winner

I was awarded the 2022 Heyman Mentorship Award for my novel manuscript Bird Hands Beaver a Fishmint Bouquet.

TESTING GROUNDS

I was one of three artists chosen to be part of Testing Grounds, a creative development and personal mentorship program for emerging artists.

 

As part of my mentorship, I wrote and directed a proof of concept short film which was produced by CuriousWorks based on an extract from my screenplay, Bird Hands Beaver a Fishmint Bouquet.

The Ropes

I was selected to be part of The Ropes, a two month (Jan-Feb 2022)  professional development program by Pari, an artist-run space based in Parramatta.

This program was supported the City of Parramatta.

2020 WestWords Emerging Writers’ Fellow

I was one of four writers awarded $4,000 for WestWords Western Sydney Emerging Writers’ Fellowship and was mentored by award winning screenwriter Ian David.
